Granite United Way Day of Caring event marking 25 years

BERLIN — On Thursday, Sept. 7, volunteers will be rolling up their sleeves and offering some real "sweat equity" to local non-profits. Each year Granite United Way works with dozens of local non-profits to match their "wish list" projects with volunteers who donate their time on Day of Caring. This year marks the 25th annual Day of Caring.

Day of Caring in the Northern Region is sponsored Androscoggin Valley Hospital, Bisson’s Sugar House, Coos County Family Health and Demers Property Management.

Volunteers will be checking in at The Brown Company House (Granite United Way’s office), 961 Main St. in Berlin.

Several nonprofit agencies are hosting projects including the ones listed below. We welcome our media friends to stop by and check in at some of these organizations to cover the day’s efforts:

• AV Home Care, 795 Main St., Berlin.

• CASA of NH & Catholic Charities, Holiday Center Building, 27 Green Square, Berlin.
