Northern Human Services recognizes staff for over 265 years of combined services

The Berlin/Gorham region of Northern Human Services held a staff recognition event at the White Mountain Chalet with 80 staff in attendance. Louise Johnson, newly selected director of Developmental Services for Berlin and Colebrook stated, “Our staff that are being recognized this year are very dedicated, compassionate and loyal. They have committed their work life to our consumers and Northern Human Services.” Charlie Cotton, area director for Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services credited the longevity and commitment of local staff as the reason why a recent state-wide survey conducted in New Hampshire showed individuals served by NHS have the highest satisfaction with services and the best treatment outcomes of any Community Mental Health Center in the State of N.H.

Northern Human Services has provided an array of mental health, substance abuse, and developmental services to the citizens of Berlin, Gorham and the neighboring communities for over 50 years, employing 120 staff and many contractors in the Berlin and Gorham area. The Mission of NHS is “To assist people affected by mental illness, developmental disabilities and related disorders in living meaningful lives”. Several attendees were quoted as crediting local residents and communities for their support in addressing this mission.
