Theresa V. McGlathery

Theresa-McGlatheryTheresa V. McGlathery, 94, of Sarasota, Florida passed away April 22, 2013 at Bay Village in Sarasota, Fla. Theresa was born in Coaticook, Quebec on June 14, 1918. She was the daughter of the late J. Emile and Ernestine (Lefebvre) Vaillancourt.
She graduated from the convent of the Sisters of the Presentation with a diploma in teaching. She moved to Berlin in 1940 upon her marriage to J. Raymond Lawrence.
Theresa was a former member of St. Joseph Church now known as Good Shepherd Parish.
In 1964 she moved to Washington, DC and was employed by Saks Fifth Avenue.
In 1967 she married James R. McGlathery. In 1967 they moved from Arlington, VA to Sarasota.
Theresa was an accomplished artist, calligrapher, seamstress, and knitter. She was proud of the fact that she had never purchased an article of clothing throughout her life. She began knitting at the age of 4 and began sewing not long after that. All her clothes were handmade and very stylish. She and her husband Jim loved to go ballroom dancing several times a week.
She was known as Grand’maman by her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Family members include her daughter Shirley (Lawrence) Croteau and husband Paul of Berlin, her son Robert D. Lawrence of San Antonio, TX, and her stepson James R. McGlathery, Jr. of Bowie, MD. She also leaves four grandchildren, Alan Croteau and wife Lisa of Claremont, Craig Croteau and wife Selena of Dover, Jason Lawrence and wife Natalie and Lindsey Lawrence of San Antonio, TX. Four great-grandchildren, Mykayla, Daniel, Julia, and Nathan Croteau along with several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Jim, her sister Cecile Allard, and her brothers Leon, Gaston, Jean Lewis, and Marcel Vaillancourt.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 7 at 1 p.m. at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Interment will follow at St. Kieran Cemetery in Berlin. There will be no calling hours.
Memorial donations may be made in her memory to TideWell Hospice, Philanthropy Department, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 72 High Street, Berlin, NH.

Service Laurier Boucher

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated for Laurier “Larry” Boucher, of Berlin, on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at St Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish with Father Kyle Stanton as Celebrant. The Cantor was Emilie Styles, accompanied by Sandy Patrick as organist. The Alter Serves were Robert Pelchat and Cecile Sickler.
Serving as readers were Irene Foster and Kathy Bertin. The offertory gifts were presented by his daughter Brenda Letellier, daughter-in-law Laurie Boucher, and Rachelle Johnson. Family friend Tammy Vashaw gave the Eulogy.
Serving as Pallbearers were his three sons Alf Boucher, Dave Boucher, and Danny Boucher, son-in-law Craig Letellier, brother-in-laws Denis Martineau and Paul Leborgne, and friends Al Foster and Bob Lebrecque.
Full Military Honors were performed by The New Hampshire Honor Guard, The Marine Corps League, The American Legion and the VFW.
There were friends and family members that attended the service from in and out of town.

Jeannette M. R. Mainguy

BERLIN -- Funeral Services for Jeannette M. R. Mainguy, 91, of Berlin, NH, were held on May 17, 2013 at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by Reverend Kyle Stanton. Interment was in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery and Father Stanton read the committal prayers. The readings were done by Bobby Rodrigue and Pauline Aldrich and gifts were presented by Raymond Mainguy and Mike Mainguy. Many relatives and friends attended the service. The Bryant Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Clara Johnson

BERLIN -- A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated for Clara Johnson, Old Orchard Beach Me., and formerly of Berlin, on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish with Father Dan Sinibnaldi as celebrant. The cantor was Emily Styles, accompanied by Sue Ramsey as organist. The alter servers were J.P Poirier and Jean Poirier.
The pall was placed by her daughter, Debbie Elcik, and granddaughter, Meagan Desjardins. Her daughter Debbie also placed the cross. Serving as readers were her great-grandchildren, Becky Desjardins and Ryanne Desjardins. The offertory gifts were presented by her great-grandchildren, Jamie, Olivia, and Jayden Desjardins. Her daughter Debbie and granddaughter Meagan gave the Eulogy.
Interment followed the services at Holy Family Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Nicholas Desjardins, Ralph Desjardins, Mike Johnson, Louis Memolo, Brian Miller, Peter Johnson and Charles Johnson. There were friends and family members that attended the service from in and out of town.
