Wayne C. Thompson

BERLIN -- Wayne C. Thompson, 68, of Berlin, NH, passed away on Wednesday May 1, 2013 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin. He was born in Berlin on March 4, 1945, the son of Clarence and Alice (Olmstead) Thompson and was a lifelong resident. Wayne graduated from Berlin High School with the Class of 1963, where he was the class vice-president and he graduated from the Vocational Technical Institute. He served with the US Marine Corps from 1963-1967, where he was on the front line during the Vietnam War. Wayne was employed by the Berlin Water Works Dept. for many years and retired as assistant superintendent. Wayne was a member of the White Mountain Post #2520 VFW, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, the CPL Richard Demers Marine Corps League and enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He had wintered in Florida for several years.
Members of the family include his wife, Mary Lee (Gunn) Thompson of Berlin; daughter, Samantha Patry and husband Mark of Berlin; son, Shawn Thompson of Berlin; grandchildren, Danica Patry and Emilee Patry; brothers, Chester Thompson of Florida and Sam Paquette and wife Penny of Concord; sisters, Louise Durant of Errol and Janet Bouchard of Berlin; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents Rose and Amedee Paquette and a brother Richard Pacquette.
Funeral services will be held on Monday May 6, at 10 a.m. at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin. Interment will be the St. Kieran Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. Donations in his memory may be made to the local Toys for Tots Program through the Marine Corps League, C/O Gilles Laramee, 689 Kent St. Berlin, NH 03570. Avery Ann LeBlanc

Avery Ann LeBlanc was born on October 31, 2013 at 2:47 pm at Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin. She weighed 5 ibs 15 .6 oz  and measured 18 inches long.
Avery's proud parents are Tansi and Andy LeBlanc of  Crestwood Drive, Gorham.
Especially proud are Avery's maternal grandparent Micheal Plourde of First Ave and Mr and Mrs Benton I Monk Sr of Hillside Ave, Berlin. Paternal grandparent are Mr and Mrs Raymond LeBlanc of Crestwood Drive, Gorham.

Molly Lucille DeBlois

BERLIN -- Molly Lucille DeBlois was born on July 13, 2012 to Melissa and Dana DeBlois. The 7 pound, 5 ounce baby girl was born at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin.
Maternal grandparents are Gary and Lisa Lavigne of Berlin. Paternal granparents are Edward and Susan DeBlois of Errol. Molly joins a proud big sister, Callie at home.

cut coed softball winers

The Gorham Rec. Dept. has announced the winners and runners-up in the Adult Coed Softball League tournament that was held on August 19. Milan Variety (pictured here) won the Division A championship. Division "A" Runner-Ups was Mr. Pizza. Division "B" Champions was Mike's Refrigeration. Runner-ups was All Terrain Auto. The league is comprised of eight teams that play every Sunday night for ten
weeks. The teams are then broken into two divisions (depending on their season standings) and two separate tournaments are held on the same day. Division A plays at Libbys Field and Division B plays at Promenade Field.
