1st Circuit Court – District Division Berlin – March 14, 2017


In First Circuit Court, District Division, Berlin, on Tuesday, March 14, the following cases were heard:
Ronald Sweet, 54, 6 Corrigan St., Gorham, was found guilty of unlawful possession of a controlled drug, marijuana, and ordered to pay a fine and penalty assessment of $744. An additional charge of unlawful possession of a controlled drug, marijuana, was nolle prosed and two charges of contempt of court were nolle prossed.
The following charges were made in 2009 against Mason Shane, who was 20-years-old at the time, and is currently 28, of 73 Newbury St., Auburn, Maine. He was found guilty of contempt of court for violating the conditions of his bail and was ordered to pay a fine and penalty assessment of $620, which was suspended on the condition he maintains good behavior for one year. Shane was found guilty on two charges of operating a motor vehicle after his license to do so was suspended and ordered to pay a fine and penalty assessment totaling $660. He was found guilty of operating an unregistered vehicle and ordered to pay a fine and penalty assessment of $120. And Shane was found guilty of failure to stop at a traffic light and ordered to pay a fine and penalty assessment of $60. Charges of unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor, transportation of alcoholic beverages by a minor, speeding, and an additional charge of failing to stop for a traffic light were nolle prossed. An additional charge of operating a motor vehicle after his license to do so was suspended, and a charge of misuse of license plates also were nolle prossed.
