BERLIN — An inmate at the federal prison in Berlin was sentenced last week to serve another eight months after he was found guilty of possessing three ounces of marijuana at the Berlin facility.
Jesus Silva-Cruz, 42, of Cuba was found guilty of possession of marijuana and possession of a prohibited object while an inmate at FCI-Berlin.
Acting U.S. Attorney John J. Farley said correctional staff was conducting routine cell searches at the prison when they found three vacuum sealed packages of marijuana. Silva-Cruz was the sole inmate assigned to the cell.
The eight month sentence will run consecutively to Silva-Crux’s current sentence. The Bureau of Prisons was the lead investigative agency in this case. It was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Donald Feith.
