Felon sentenced for possessing weapon

 LANCASTER — David Decker, 52, was sentenced in Coos County Superior Court to serve three to six years after he was found guilty of being a convicted felon in possession of a deadly weapon.
Decker was an inmate at the Northern N.H. Correctional Facility in Berlin on Sept. 16 when he was discovered to have a shank or homemade knife in his possession. He was found guilty of the charge following a jury trial in Coos Superior Court.
Decker had previously been convicted of first-degree murder in Merrimack Superior Court in 1992. His sentence in the weapon case is to run consecutive to his current sentence for murder.
State records show Decker is currently incarcerated at the N.H. State Prison in Concord.
