Cutline: Berlin Fire Department honors fallen heroes of 9/11

BFD 9 11 2On Monday morning, the Berlin Fire Department honored all those who gave their lives at One World Trade Center, North and South Tower on Sept. 11, 2001. A general alarm tone rang at the Berlin Fire Department at 8:46 a.m. and 9:03 a.m. to signify the time when both towers were first hit. The department further honored the fallen by transmitting the signal “5555,” the same one used by the New York Fire Department on that fateful day. Standing at attention to honor the fallen were, pictured from the left, Assistant Chief Thaddeus Soltys, Captain Peter Donovan, Firefighter Noah Hallgren, Firefighter Jason Vien and Firefighter Justin Jacques.
