Berlin Squirts handed first loss

BERLIN/GORHAM -- Last Saturday, Maine's Casco Bay Mariners handed Berlin a 5-2 loss, at the Notre dame arena, leaving their season's record at 10-1-3.

In the first period, both teams skated back n forth leaving the period scoreless.  Berlin's Kurtis Grover stopped 5 shots to Casco Bay's 2.

Arsenault no-hits Kennett, 4-1

BERLIN -- Junior Curtis Arsenault twirled a no-hit 4-1 victory over the Kennett Eagles in an inter-divisional boy's baseball game recently.

Kennett actually scored an unearned run in the bottom of the second inning. Arsenault's line had the Berlin defense play very well while the hard throwing right hander struck out five, walked three, and hit a batter, going the distance in the win.
