Fish and Game - Bears and bird feeders

State Fish and Game say it’s time to take down your bird feeders. The unseasonably warm weather had hungry bears waking up earlier than in most years. (FISH AND GAME PHOTO)

CONCORD — According to N.H. Fish and Game, the Granite State’s black bears are emerging from their winter dens and beginning to actively search for any available food sources.

Because of the limited menu during this time, bears will be easily enticed by a wide variety of human-produced food sources, especially the seed and suet found in bird feeders.
