CONWAY — Wednesday marked a week since Kennett High School went into lockdown for more than two hours. Fortunately, the lockdown at KHS and later that day at Kennett Middle School turned out to be false alarms. But school and police officials say there were no end of lessons learned that day, things that will help everyone even be better prepared in the future.

“Even though it put students and faculty out for almost 2 1/2 hours, the amount of information we gleaned was invaluable,” Conway Police Lt. Chris Mattei said. “This was something happening in real time, sometimes that caught everyone off guard. We could do 20 training exercises over the next 10 years and not come away with the amount of experience that we did from last week.”
